Power restored to Town centre homes

POWER was restored to homes in Dumfries after an accident when a vehicle collided with an electricity sub station.
The incident took place in the early afternoon in Lovers Walk, Dumfries and police Fire and Rescue Staffwere called out along with engineers.
The incident resulted in a power cut in the area which affected the traffic lights at the junction of Lovers Walk/Academy Street and Academy Street/Loreburn Street.
About 100 homes in the area were without power but it was quickly restored by engineers and all were re-connected in about an hour and traffic was soon flowing normally
