Man three times over limit

A TIP off to police landed a 49-year-old motorist in front of a Sheriff on a charge of driving with more than three times the permitted drink level on his breath.
Ronald Mathieson of McArdle Place, Dalbeattie, was traced at Cargenbridge on the outskirts of Dumfries and stopped by the police.
And in the dock at Dumfries Sheriff Court he admitted committing the offence at the weekend.
Solicitor Liz Dougan said Mathieson suffered from various health problems.
Sheriff Brian Mohan called for background reports and deferred sentence to September 9 with Mathieson banned from driving in the interim.
