£20,000 worth of sheep rustled in Moffat

POLICE are hunting a rusting gang who have stolen more than 250 ewes and lambs worth over £20,000
Police Scotland said today that the ewes and lambs with a total value of over £20,000 have been stolen from fields on farmlands at Parks Farm, Beattock, near Moffat.
The theft of the 250 plus ewes and lambs has taken place sometime between July 24 and August 1.
The lambs and ewes are Texel cross with white faces and were taken from two fields.
Constable Laura Paton of Police Scotland at Lockerbie said: “This a large scale theft of livestock and obviously a vehicle must have been used.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around the Beattock area over the past few weeks to get in touch with us at Lockerbie through 101 if they can help.”
The Moffat and Johnstonebridge areas have been targets for the theft of sheep and cattle over recent years.
