Suspicious fire at Maxwelltown High School

Police in Dumfries are jointly investigating with the Fire and Rescue Service the cause of a fire which was discovered around 2315 hours on Monday 13 June 2011 at Maxwelltown High School in Dumfries.

The fire damaged construction work and materials at the school running into many thousands of pounds. At this stage police are keen to trace two people who were seen in the area of the school around this time. The first is described as being male, young, wearing a white hooded top, dark trousers and white shoes. The second may be female, young, wearing a dark jacket, white top, dark trousers and white shoes.
