Weather warning for drivers

Police are asking drivers to extra care on road across Dumfries and Galloway as further heavy rain is forecast through Wednesday evening and into Thursday. Already a number of roads in the region are being affected by standing water and drivers reminded of the dangers of driving into water at speed. Drivers should also consider the use of their lights as the combination of falling rain, spray and dull conditions reduce visibility considerably.
