Armed Police called to incident at Haugh of Urr

Police have said they are dealing with ‘an incident’ in Haugh of Urr, near Castle Douglas.
They say it follows an earlier domestic incident at a house in Port Road and they are currently negotiating with a man in the woods nearby.
They say there is no threat to the public and a containment operation is in place. They are asking for the public to avoid the area.
Police understand that there are rumours of this man being armed. There is nothing at this stage to confirm these rumours.
