DATES FOR PRINCESS ANNE ON HER SCOTTISH VISIT

PRINCESS Anne will attend three events in Scotland, two of them in Dumfriesshire on Thursday September 10.
The Princess Royal, who is Patron to the International Sheep Dog Society, will attend the International Sheep Dog Trials at Meikleholm Farm, Courance, Lockerbie.
The same day she will be at the new £10 million Annandale Distillery at Northfield, Annan, where she will perform the official opening.
And the Princess Royal who is patron to the Scottish Rugby Union, will attend the Rugby World Cup Scotland ‘Send Off’ Dinner, Radisson Blu Hotel, 301 Argyle Street, Glasgow, the same day.
Sheepdog handlers from all over the country will descend on Meikleholm Farm for the big event of the year which has secured a £30,000 worth of grant funding from Dumfries and Galloway Council and Event Scotland which is assisting with the marketing and planning for the event.
The Trial field is a flat 120 acre site with great viewing facilities. The sheep will be Scottish Blackface ewes and our Chief Sheep Steward, Colin Armstrong will do his best to make sure the sheep are in good shape for all the Competitors.
A Countryside Fair will run alongside the trials and there will be various types of Trade Stands, demonstrations such as Dog and Duck, 7 Stanes Mountain biking, Spinning Weaving, Stick Making, Dry Stone Walling to name a few and some children’s activities. It’s the Scotland’s year of Food and Drink and they are delighted to have the local farmers market on board to tickle your taste buds.
