Dead Man Named

Police have now named the man who was pulled from the River Nith on the afternoon of Friday 13 August, as 29 year old Gordon Manson. Mr Manson was living in Friars vennel Dumfries however comes from Dalbeattie. A report as been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
It is believed that Mr Manson went into the river from the McMillan Bridge in the town and police are still appealing for witnesses who may have seen him in that area shortly before 1500 hours that day to get in touch on 0845 600 5701.
