FUNDING SUCCESS FOR ANNAN YOUTH GROUP
Written by author on May 7, 2014
A Monday night drop in Youth Group, supported by the Council’s Annan Community Learning & Development team, has recently been funded by D & G Youthbank to the sum of £720.00 to help with purchasing equipment to help them run their Nerf Project during their summer activity programme.
Group member, Steven Ballantyne, said, “It’s great we’ve been given this funding for our group to help with our summer activity programme. We’ve arranged some Nerf activities and now we’ve got the proper safety gear, including padded waistcoats and safety goggles, we can enjoy it much more. Organising this project has given us new skills in safety measures, looking at terms and conditions of using the equipment, and everyone signing these before we use it .”
Youthbank assessor, Melissa Muir, presented the cheque on behalf of Dumfries and Galloway Youthbank to the group.
Dumfries and Galloway’s Youthbank is a pot of money controlled by a group of young people aged 12 to 25. Only groups of young people can apply. The full award amount is currently £750.
