Written by on October 1, 2010

Lockerbie Town Hall has had to be closed to the public due to a structural problem.

Steeplejacks carried out an inspection yesterday and, having seen their report, the Council’s structural engineer has had to close the building on public safety grounds. The area around the town hall has been cordoned off.

The Lockerbie Jazz Festival event due to take place in the town hall on Friday 1 October has been relocated to the Dryfesdale Hotel.

All Lockerbie Jazz Festival events due to take place in the town hall on Saturday 2 October have been relocated to the new Lockerbie Academy.

There were no Lockerbie Jazz Festival events due to take place in the town hall on Sunday 3 October and Sunday’s events will all take place as planned.
