Serious assault on bus between Lockerbie and Lochmabem

Police in Lockerbie are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault which took place on a bus between Lockerbie and Lochmaben on Friday 3 December 2010. About 2140 hours that night, six men got onto a Houston’s bus which left Lockerbie for Dumfries. At some point in the journey between Lockerbie and Lochmaben an altercation took place between some of the men, and as a result a 19 year old man from Lockerbie received a serious injury to his eye socket as a result of being assaulted. Four men were put off the bus at this point, and the victim and a friend left the bus in Lochmaben The victim has since been treated in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for a serious injury to his eye socket.
Police want to trace anyone who may have been travelling on that bus, and in particular two females and one male person who were thought to have been present when this assault took place. Police can be contacted on 0845 600 5701, or anonymously, through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
