Serious road traffic collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision that occurred on the A709 near to the entrance of Lockerbie at around 11.45hrs on Thursday 23 June.
The collision involved a silver coloured Honda motor scooter ridden by a local 60 year old male and a Nissan van driven by a local 41 year old male.
The 60 year old motor scooter rider sustained serious injuries in the collision. He was taken to DGRI to receive treatment on his injuries and is condition is currently described as critical but stable. The 41 year old van driver was taken to DGRI to receive treatment on minor injuries sustained.
Anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident or seen either of the vehicles prior to the collision is asked to contact police on 0845 600 5701 or any police officer. Information can also be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
