Police have received a Met Office severe weather warning for the West of Scotland and Dumfries and Galloway relating to heavy snow tonight. Accumulations of up to 15cm may be expected on high ground, and smaller accumulations at a lower level. The snow will drift due to the gale force north wind.
Police are issuing advanced warnings to motorists to take care on the regions roads. Consider your journey and keep an eye on the weather and developing weather forecasts. If making a journey, consider checking your route prior to setting off.
Drive according to the conditions experienced and refer to Traffic Scotland for advice on road conditions.
