Statement from Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary regarding Fuel Supplies
Written by Kevin Rennie on March 30, 2012
Following recent panic buying of fuel caused by fears over potential shortages caused by strike action, Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary have said the following:
“There is no need to panic buy for fuel. The likelihood of strike action has reduced for the moment. Also for any strike action to happen, the Unions need to give seven days notice. So if and when this happens, we will all still have seven days to get prepared. At the moment this is not needed, further talks are planned for next week so there will be no strike action at least until after the Easter period. Fuel is being delivered as normal and filling stations are stocked in Dumfries and Galloway as normal.”
