Thornhill composer’s Christmas success

Well known Thornhill musician and composer Robert Maitland has found Christmas success from an unusual quarter and has seen one of his compositions finds way straight into the Dutch singles chart at No13 this week
Hoo Hoo Christmas as the tune is now called was picked up by BYentl a female Dutch soul/r&b singer with a history of Christmas hits in Holland .
Robert originally recorded the track with his own band Camus and featured Carris Crosbie and was called Once upon a Christmas .
Alive 107.3’s Iain Renicks said ” Its a great wee track and has that Phil Spector feel and all the ingredients a Christmas track needs and to think Alive 107.3 were the first station to air the original track , its a credit to Robert and his song writing skills and we hope it goes to number 1″.

Iain Renicks was the first person to pick up on it and play it on Alive Radio 3 years ago. It was then called ‘Once Upon A Christmas’
