Tough Mudder’s descend on Drumlanrig

Written by on July 15, 2012

Thousands of people descended upon Drumlanrig Castle to take part in Tough Mudder, which was designed by British special forces to test fitness, stamina, mental strength .

For the first time ,a 12-mile obstacle course which sees participants run through flames and ice cold water has been held in Scotland. With more than 5,000 “mudders” taking part throughout the weekend.

They  braved their way through about 100,000 gallons of mud and through pits of stinging nettles, waist-high swamps and claustrophobic tunnels, as well as receiving 10,000 volts of electroshock therapy before crossing the finish line.

Described as “the toughest event on the planet”, the extreme endurance challenge was the brainchild of Will Dean and Guy Livingstone and has already taken place in the US, Australia and Canada.

We would also like to congratulate alive’s own Kath Lord- Green  who survived the course . Well done .by kind permission of Alison Kalotka
