Sometime between 0930 hours and 1030 hours on Wednesday 23 February 2011, two black faced sheep were struck and seriously injured by a vehicle which failed to stop after the crash. The crash happened on the roadway between Arkland Cottage and Knockelly Cottage, Penpont. As a result of this crash both sheep were so badly injured that they had to be put down. The value of the sheep is around £110 each.
