Joanna Lumley launches a £4million appeal in Dumfries

The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust has launched a £4million appeal with backing coming from actress Joanna Lumley. She visited Dumfries yesterday to help launch the campaign in order to turn the ruined Moat Brae into something magical.
There is a lot of plans for the building, where J.M Barrie got the inspiration for his worldwide story Peter Pan. The building and gardens are now going to be restored, an make into a literature educational centre. The garden will also feature a playpark.
The first task for the local project is to raise £750,000 to fix the roof which is currently decaying. If this is not done buy the Winter, the building will suffer badly, so this is priority.
