Quad bike theft at Parton, near Castle Douglas

Police are investigating the theft of two quad bikes from a farm at Boreland of Partron. Parton, Castle Douglas sometime between 2100 hours on Thursday 19 and 0800 hours on Friday 20 August 2010. The quad bikes wee both Honda Fourtrax make. A chain saw was also taken in the raid.
Police are keen to trace anyone who may have been in the area between these times who may have seen anything suspicious. They are particularly keen to trace any sightings or information about a blue coloured Vauxhall Astra which was seen in the area around 1915 hours on Thursday 19 August.
Detective Constable Ross Milligan says “police are seeking the help of the public who may have seen or heard something suspicious around this area on Thursday evening/early Friday morning. His includes neighbouring farms and properties. Has there been any suspicious incidents or activity in their area over this period, or indeed over the week or so prior to this raid?
